Administrative Assistant / Business Development Manager (Norcross, GA)
We are searching for a part-time Assistant to help grow our networking organization. This polished and outgoing self-starter should have strong computer, organizational and interpersonal skills, have expertise in marketing and branding, be detail-oriented, be resourceful, be efficient, and be able to establish rapport with a wide range of personalities. Knowledge of local networking organizations and associations is a necessity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Design and implement efforts to publicize/promote events using different media (paper and electronic, and social sites)
• Create & distribute e-newsletters and press releases
• Secure paid sponsorships
• Manage database
• Maintain & update website
• Manage social media sites (YahooGroup, Linked In Groups, Facebook Group, Meetup, etc.)
• Increase & retain membership and participation
• Be a liaison for Regional Directors and other Leaders
• Implement benchmarks and best practices
• Identify and negotiate appropriate venue(s), including A/V needs, refreshments, parking, other logistics for various events
• Book (paid) speaking engagements, and coordinate necessary logistics and A/V for said engagements
• Coordinate with speakers, charities, etc. for networking meetings, happy hours, and volunteer opportunities
• Perform general office duties such as answering phones, opening and sorting mail, responding to faxes and emails, reconciling invoices/receipts/payments, filing, creating name badges
• Do other duties as assigned
• Attend other networking events to promote organization
Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
• Excellent attention to details and outstanding organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, including superior writing and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage diverse projects efficiently
• High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Competence with other computer applications, such as Constant Contact and Joomla, is a plus
• 2+ years of administrative and executive support to a senior corporate or nonprofit company officer desirable
• Bachelor’s degree
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include occasional early morning, late evening, or weekend events
