SPEAKER
Michael
Kogon, CEO of Definition 6
Program Title: So You
Want to Work With Me?
Program Description:
What I am looking for in a
future employee, business partner, and/or vendor. Why only 1 out of
8 applicants, business development, or salespeople gets an offer
from me. And what you should know I’m thinking about before hiring
someone new as an employee and/or as a vendor.
About
our speaker:
Michael
Kogon, Chief Executive Officer of Definition 6, founded the company in 1997 and
continues to be integral in day-to-day activities. In particular, he meets
regularly with the CEOs and CMOS of Definition 6 clients, to share his expertise
in interactive marketing and technology, ensure their satisfaction and express
his commitment to the growth of their business. Under Michael’s leadership,
Definition 6 has created over $10B in revenue for clients and forged
partnerships with such industry leaders as Microsoft, as a Gold Certified
Partner with 5 competencies and Google,
as the first Enterprise Professional Partner headquartered in Georgia.
These efforts have won Michael many accolades, but perhaps he is most proud that
Georgia Trend named Definition 6 a “Best Place to Work in Georgia 2006”. In
2005, Michael was selected as one of the Entrepreneurs of the Year by Catalyst
Magazine. Michael was awarded the 2004 Small Business Person of the Year Award
by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He was also listed as one of the Up
and Comers "Under 40 and Rising - 50 of Atlanta's Most Promising Young
Stars" in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
A thought leader by nature, Michael can often be found speaking at one of the
many professional and trade association sessions throughout the south east on a
variety of topics, including: “The Top Ten Things I Wish I Knew Before
Becoming an Entrepreneur”, “Selling to the C-Suite”, “Using eMarketing
as a Selling Tool”, “Reducing IT Costs Through Managed Services” and
“Web 2.0”. Definition 6’s eBusiness and IT Infrastructure business
continues to be one of the most highly certified and recognized consulting and
service firms in the region.
Kogon also dedicates much time to the Atlanta community. He is a Leadership
Atlanta Alumni, and is serving on the boards of the Atlanta Jewish Federation
Young Leadership Council - National Cabinet member, the American Israel Policy
Advisory Committee - National Leadership Network member. Kogon, an executive
board member of the Atlanta Jewish Federation, also served as the Chairman of
the Atlanta Jewish Federation's CEO roundtable. Michael is active in the United
Way, Woodruff Arts Center, Children’s Hospital, and was the Chairman of the
2005 and 2006 Bob Strickland Memorial Golf Classic benefiting the Arthritis
Foundation.
Kogon, who graduated from the University of Maryland in 1992 with a bachelor’s
degree in speech communications, formerly founded Strategic Communications
company. Prior to this earlier entrepreneurial effort, Kogon was Business
Development Director for the Mescon Group. Kogon began his career as an account
executive at Pringle Dixon Pringle, an Atlanta-based advertising, marketing and
public relations agency.
Michael resides in the city of Sandy
Springs, with his wife Laurie and young daughters Eve and Leah.
